Let me tell you a story of two cities. One, far away towards the Sahara desert. Some people took up guns and bombs, went into peoples houses and killed them in cold blood. They captured civilians, police, soldiers and foreign aid workers and publicly slaughtered them on camera.
These same people kidnapped school children, raped and killed some of them and kept some as sex slaves.
Then some of them were caught right on the battlefield, with guns, insignia and blood on their hands. The government that caught them decided to punish them by feeding them, clothing them, ensuring they became elite members of the society by fasttracking their national ID cards and then released them back into the society without court trial or one minute in jail.
Now lets visit the second city.
Down south towards the Atlantic ocean. Some people whose lands and properties were stolen during a civil war decided years later to form a country of their own.
They killed nobody, had no bombs, shot no one but only gathered on football fields to demand their freedom from an unproductive union.
The same government that dressed mass murderers as prodigal sons took up tanks, soldiers and heavy firepower, marched into the venue of this peaceful assembly and proceeded to shoot down defenseless people as one who shoot birds for sport.
The first city is in northern Nigeria and the prodigal sons are boko haram terrorists.
The second city is south eastern Nigeria and the murdered men are IPOB members.
The government is the Fulani government of buhari and as can be seen, his enablers are the quota system educated northerners who take the rest of us as fools.
I used to believe that the rape of the south was being done by the northern political elites. It appears however that they have the support of their intellectual class as well.
The solution is simple however. Just as spouses are advised to walk away from a bad marriage instead of domestic violence, it is time for the south or all those willing to, to walk away from this abusive relationship.
To the slain IPOB members, rest not in peace but let your blood seek vengeance until your killers are brought to justice.
This nonsense comes to an end this month with the start of the draft of a new constitution for the willing.., “We the people of..,” and so I intend to walk away from a constitution that expired in 2014.
