When referring to ISIS defeat in Iraq, the Iraqi Special Operations Force (ISOF- Golden Brigade) that basically engaged ISIS from the very beginning when other Iraqi Army units fled, and the Shia Militia groups with backing from Iran? These units deserve commendation for the defeat of ISIS in Iraq.
How did they achieve this feat? the game changer was when they brought 250 MT-LB upgunned with ZU-23-2 from Russia at 250K dollars apiece, which was used to stop ISIS advancement. Iraq could then sit down, plan and fund big time land air procurement to retake what was lost.
If NA can get 250 of these Mine Resistant Armoured vehicles fitted with modern thermal vision for night combat to 23mm x 2 another 1,000 MT-LB, night vision armoured heavy firepower all terrain troop carriers to spread around 100 army FOBs, 100 more NAF air bases, NN Lake Chad base, military barracks, MJNTF bases, Baga & Bama regular hot zones, Police MOPOL hot camps, we can push BH/ISWAP to total submission.

Watch that real life movie again in full as the war happened in Somalia, estimating numbers, 20 well armed helicopters gave close air support for 24 hours to 100 elite US Army troops, best soldiers worldwide, 2 helicopters were shot down without any SAM missile. 20 helos could not save two platoons size 100 soldiers, until the US Army General begged the Pakistani army to send in 15 AFV of 2 tanks, 13 APCs and what 20 great combat helicopters failed to do for 24 hours air support, the 15 armoured vehicles completed the job in 2 hours saving all soldiers back to base.
No Pakistani AFVs was lost while 2 helicopters were shot down and other 27 helicopters ran away when the US General said “I cannot risk another loss of helicopter. Tell the Pakistani General to help us send AFV or else 100 American soldiers will be dead in body bags soon.” I am just saying this in the best interest of our army.
