Today I want to take a moment to celebrate and appreciate my friend and colleague, who has recently completed his PhD from Wharton, The University of Pennsylvania, and added the title and prefix: Dr. to his name. From his incredible achievements in the workplace to his highly impressive academic accomplishments (he has 5 degrees – 3 of which are masters degrees(phew!), there’s so much one can learn from leaders like Roti. Despite his background as a software engineer, Roti has built an illustrious career in #HR. Here are 5 leadership lessons I have learned from observing Roti’s leadership style over the years:
#1 – #Leaders must “grind”. True leaders roll up their sleeves and put in work, not act as mere traffic wardens.
#2 – Leaders must be visionary. People follow visionaries.
#3 – Leaders must be both externally and internally focused.
#4 – Leaders must be vulnerable. Invincible leaders exist only in myths and legends.
#5 – Above all else, “kindness”. A kind leader stands heads and shoulders above all others and is the fairest of them all.
