Recently, I have officially been promoted to the next grade in my career plan & my team has closed out phase 2 of our project. These achievements have reminded me how much I’ve grown within #Schlumberger for the past 2+ years, and I’ve picked up some attributes which I find relevant for anyone in the working world.
DETAIL – Attention to detail is vital. People seek quality in work, and if you don’t take small things seriously, bigger things won’t happen. Like a house of cards; you need a sturdy base that holds up the top.
GET OUT – from your comfort zone! Don’t be afraid to learn new things, be in the unfamiliar, and ask questions. You won’t learn and grow when you’re being complacent.
GRIT – No job in this world comes easy, but it’s how you stay committed and persevere through difficult times. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going!
REST – but don’t quit. Younger generations such as myself can be impatient which can result to being ‘burnt out’. Great things take time to develop. “A career is a marathon, not a sprint”. So take a rest once in awhile, but don’t (never) quit.
Amidst this #COVID19 & the #OilandGas price issue, I still hold a positive outlook for what’s ahead in my career. It’s a challenging time for everyone, but we will bounce back stronger than ever.
