I arrived very early in Abu Dhabi from New York transferred to undertake new job at Etihad Towers Construction Management and supervision assignment. Honestly, I was very uncomfortable, was thinking whether I have made the right decision to leave NY, did not know Arabic, never being in Gulf area and did not know what to expect.
Could not sleep at all and very early decided to go check on job site before my official meeting with AECOM. The size was magnificent! Never seen site of this size and excavation this massive. Had some secondary thoughts whether I could make it here, but the projects was incredible and worth of even failure from my end…
Next day I have met His Highness Sheikh Suroor bin Mohammed Al Nahyan who kindly encouraged, smiled at me and said that we would build a history together, and indeed after 5 grueling years Etihad Towers is one of the world best mix use development. I would like to thank the entire team of professionals of dedication, for hard work and courage.
Highly recommend everyone to visit if you will be in Abu Dhabi. Was incredibly difficult at times but I would do it again in heartbeat!
